It far exceeded my expectations. I was thinking it'd be a run of the mill breakfast diner, but it may have been the best casual breakfast place I've been to in Cleveland (not including the nicer ones). The menu was unique with crepes and those wild ballooning pancakes. The coffee was flavorful and not weak -- a rarity. BIG portions. Overall, I was very impressed.

I have 0 things to say even remotely negative about this place. The staff is super friendly as soon as you walk in, even the ocassional line cook that pops out has a warm welcome. Our waitress was super friendly, all smiles and genuine service. And then the food. These are the best pancakes I've ever eaten. Chocolate chip and pumpkin. The whipped cream is homemade too. The scrambled eggs and bacon- cooked to perfection. A lot of places get that crusty light brown burn on the bottom of my eggs and it sucks. Not this place. They nailed it. The perfect texture. I've seen ppl say the bacon is a steep price but they're 4 big thick slices you can just share w someone. The atmosphere is upbeat, airy, modern, warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Hands down my favorite breakfast join ever. Everything they serve is top notch. My absolute favorites are the apple pancake and the Dutch baby. I can not even describe them, it was like my great grandma made them for me back when I was a kid.

Have been eagerly anticipating the opening of Strongsville’s franchise of The Original Pancake House. I anticipate it will come to dominate the several breakfast-only restaurants in the Strongsville-Brunswick market, likely putting a serious dent in its competition, most notably newer entrants with likely a less entrenched, loyal clientele. That being said, our new OPH still has a few bugs to work out of their system. Details below. 4 ⭐, for now, until they work out minor kinks. Food: I over ordered, wanting protein in addition to pancake and maple syrup carbs. So, I ordered my favorite - 49ers flapjacks with 2 soft-scrambled eggs, a side of bacon, coffee, and tomato juice. My coffee was poured even before I ordered my meal. First bug - I had to ask for a different cup as I was offered a mug with old food crusted onto the exterior. Less than a week in, dishwasher staff need to be more attentive rinsing, loading, and then storing cleaned dishes. The coffee itself was good, albeit much, much stronger than I have found at other OPHs in CLE, Detroit, Toledo, Dayton, South Bend, and Chicago. So much so that I had to add a bit of sugar to blunt the bitterness. The house made tomato juice was lovely. Bacon thick and smokey with a nice chew to it. The flapjacks were sublime - tender yet chewy, redolent with the extra butter my waitress brought unasked, because that’s how she likes hers. OPH’s practice of serving warmed maple syrup adds a wonderful special touch. The flapjacks are so good that given up to now I have been unable to regularly dine at a franchise I rarely explore other parts of the menu. That will now change. The eggs however were a disappointment. Most breakfast restaurants fail when it comes to soft scrambled eggs. Strongsville’s OPH on this day faltered more than most. Overcooked, dry, and actually browned on the bottom. Barely touched them, taking 80% of the serving and 3 of 4 bacon slices home for use as leftovers. I am sure the cook staff will find their groove and improve. Service: Brilliant. Friendly, attentive, exuding enthusiasm. This OPH, based on this single personnel data point, does recruiting and training well. Atmosphere: The bones of the old Gourmet restaurant are readily apparent. It appears they even retained the old booths, reupholstering them. Nothing wrong with that if true. Saves capital investment. They eliminated the counter-service bar, moved the cashier station for more efficient foot traffic, and got rid of that salad/buffet thing. I never went to the uppity taco joint that replaced Gourmet. The restaurant is now bright, open, airier than it seemed before. Just under $30 over-ordering for 1, with tip. Strongsville’s Original Pancake House will do well, and its minor issues will undoubtedly be resolved as the crew hits their stride. I highly recommend, and will quickly return. Maybe for lunch today!

I will preface this with, they haven't been open very long, so may be they are understaffed or still getting their bearings. Went on a Tuesday morning about 10:45 AM, about half of the tables were empty, several parties waiting, we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. After the wait, the service was fine, punctual and friendly. Food was good, a lot of choices, will definitely be back to try other items. The side of bacon was sticker shock at $8.59 for 4 slices but, in fairness it's thick cut bacon and it was cooked to perfection. Our warm syrup and blueberry compot came out before our food so they were room temperature when it came to actually using any of it.

Wow, what about amazing isn’t this place brand new not open long but doing very well with Service and all of the above Sarah was my inspiration today we laughed. She commented. I had tears in my eyes as we quickly met each other as she was gonna eventually take my order what a gift for gab she has. And the most beautiful smile I had to call her manager to the table to tell him I I also explained as I’m a trucker I had to start watching what I’m eating. I never was a picky eater. I cannot eat pork because of my gout. I set a lot, but also I’m alone in my truck a lot so the conversation really helps somebody like with my profession. I literally almost did not feel good when I came in there and instantly Sarah made me feel great as I laughed as I said. Actually, it made me. I told her I did not need the straw. It’ll end up in the ocean and we could save the dolphins. The conversation turned towards. She wanted to know what movie I was talking about and she was gonna watch it that night bedazzled you can watch it yourself the dolphin safe tuna, crying, emotional episode lol of one of his three or five wishes from the devil of all people funny movie great experience you guys thank you so much. The food was so delicious. Really hit the spot. I will come back again. God bless America Paul Harvey is smiling big time. Good day.

I have high standards for pancakes and Strongsville'breakfast restaurants are all over the place when it comes to good pancakes (Scramblers - awful, Jennifer's and Another Broken Egg Cafe - good) so I was excited when I found out they just opened this new restaurant. Came in and got 15 different pancakes of 3 different flavors and I can definitely say they have the best pancakes in Strongsville! The coffee is just ok, unfortunately, and the place was really loud and service was average. But, the food did come out quickly and at a good temperature and we only had to wait about 20 minutes despite it being crowded. Also, $50 with tip for 3 people seemed like a lot, but we brought home a ton of leftovers. Plus, other breakfast restaurants in the area, like Another Broken Egg Cafe, can cost almost twice that, so this place was a good value. Overall, I'd say a 4.5 star experience. Definitely plan to come back!

I was loyal to Fairview Parks but I can say I won't be going to that location anymore. In Strongsville, the service was outstanding. Me and my partner want to give kudos to the prep cook because that food was on point. I had the southern eggs Benedict and those were probably the best breakfast home fries I have ever had at any restaurant. The whole entree was well seasoned. My partner had a meat lovers omelette and everything was super fresh. If you want big portions too, this is your place. Thank you for the good experience. It was our first time at this location and you'll be seeing us again.
